Naked Came The Bride
Sheer, short and scandalous. The latest trend on the bridal runway doesn't leave too much to the imagination.
"I think a lot of designers, especially the Israeli designers, are following the trend of showing skin," said Sha, a stylist at NYC's Designer Loft. "A lot of nude linings, a lot of no linings and, especially this year, that barely-there lace."
The store's stylist says every other bride walking into Designer Loft is looking to buy a nontraditional wedding dress.
"And it is more expensive because of the design. Around $5,000," added Sha.
That price tag is significantly higher than the average wedding dress cost. According to The Knot, women spend around $1200 on a dress.
Some designers say celebrities are responsible for this new couture trend in which brides imagine their wedding day as their own red carpet moment.
