Faster Alembic Playback in Blender (MDD Workflow)
Here's a workflow showing basic optimization for imported Alembics in Blender.
If you already have a scene you'll need to export the first frame of your alembic/simulation only and then export an MDD cache of the sequence and use the Mesh Cache modifier in Blender (or your program's equivalent) to apply the MDD, making reading MUCH faster.
