It is always fun to see how inspirations and influences can migrate from creator to creator in the community (similar to the kind of thing we saw with Gibi's recent ASMR Tag series, but this time, more organically). Last week, SleepStories ASMR posted a simple video about marbles, and she reminded me of something that I have in my house I had forgotten about - a homemade "Aggravation" game board, made from a piece of particle-board kitchen countertop, made by a distant relative when I was young.
As it tends to go with unexpected inspirations, I had to push this to the top of my video list. ;-) So much nostalgia here for me, not to mention two of my favorite tabletop gaming triggers - the sound of dice in hand, and the sound of marbles against wood. Join me as I introduce you to this vintage DIY board, and march some marbles around the holes as we muse on things like legacy, the interconnection of the modern world, the drama culture that many times comes with that, and the value of being able to look someone in the eye and to ask how they're doing.
