The folks at Ubisoft SF were gracious enough to invite me out to play four hours of Far Cry Primal, and I was very pleased with what I experienced. I'm a huge fan of the series, and seeing it set in 10,000 B.C.E. was a total trip. Gone are firearms and vehicles, and in their place are spears, clubs, and a bow & arrow. While combat is more primitive, it's now more brutal than ever.
In this gameplay video, you'll get to see the first half hour of the game. As Takkar, you're one of the few remaining members of the Wenja tribe, and after encountering another surviving member, you set out to conquer the land of Oros, and rebuild your fractured community. Eventually, you'll learn to tame wild beasts and take them into battle with you. The setting is such a visually rich place, and I'm very impressed with how much content they managed to pack in.
Give it a watch! And be sure to catch my other video showing off the open-world gameplay!
