In Conversation: The Photography of Robert Blomfield
Online conversation with the family of the late Robert Blomfield, Margaret Findlay (Museums & Galleries Edinburgh) and Daryl Green (University of Edinburgh) held on 3 March 2022.
In 2018-2019 the City Art Centre premiered 'Robert Blomfield: Edinburgh Street Photography: An Unseen Archive' with unprecedented success and record visitor numbers. Since then, the photographs of Robert Blomfield have been steadily gathering more critical acclaim. In 2021 the Blomfield family deposited the Scotland portion of Robert's archive at the University of Edinburgh.
In this 'In Conversation' event the Blomfield family and staff from the City Art Centre and the University discuss all the exciting things that have happened to the archive since 2018, including their new partnership with the University of Edinburgh and the forthcoming exhibition ('Robert Blomfield: Student of Light' opening 6 May 2022), as well as some reflections on their favourite photographs and personal memories of Robert Blomfield.
