REMINISCENCIA is my attempt to capture the essence of ambient piano music, a journey that has led me to explore serenity and experimentation through the notes of a piano. Inspired by visionaries like Satie, Chopin, and contemporary composers such as C418, whose work in video game music has left an indelible mark on the genre, this album is an intimate reflection of my own connection to music and its ability to transport me to deep emotional places.
For me, background music has always been a refuge, a place I can go to find peace and contemplation. On this album, I have sought to fuse that sense of serenity with a bolder and more experimental exploration. Each piece is an attempt to capture the magic of those moments of stillness, but also to challenge the limits of what the piano can express.
Satie's influence is palpable in every note, with his minimalist approach and his ability to create enveloping atmospheres with a simple melody. But I wasn't content to simply emulate his style; I wanted to take that feeling of calm to a new level, exploring textures and sounds that go beyond the conventional.
I also found inspiration in Chopin, whose melancholic compositions have always resonated deeply with me. Its arpeggios and emotional passages have become the basis for many of the pieces on this album, but I have tried to reinterpret them in a way that makes them feel fresh and contemporary.
Throughout REMINISCENCIA the piano becomes my traveling companion, taking me through soundscapes that range from the calm and contemplative to the intricate and surprising. Each note is an expression of my own emotional journey, a window into my inner world that I invite the listener to explore with me.
This album is my way of honoring the rich tradition of ambient music and the lasting influence of great pianists on its evolution. It is my hope that, upon listening to these pieces, listeners will feel transported to places of calm and reflection, but also inspired to explore new sonic and emotional territories for themselves. In REMINISCENCIA music becomes an intimate dialogue between pianist and listener, a shared journey toward serenity and experimentation.

From the early days of the 20th century, with Erik Satie's groundbreaking "Gymnopédies" in 1888, to the arrival of Brian Eno's "Music for Airports" in 1978, which laid the foundations of modern ambient, the evolution of piano has been fascinating. In 1952, Glenn Gould shocked the world with his performance of Bach's "Goldberg Variations," a recording that challenged the conventions of classical performance. In 1999, Ludovico Einaudi captivated audiences around the world with his album "Eden Roc", which fused classical elegance with contemporary influences. More recently, in 2015, Nils Frahm surprised with "Solo", an album that explored new piano techniques and sonorities, cementing his place as one of the most prominent innovators in the genre. These albums, among many others, have helped shape the rich history and diversity of instrumental piano music over the years.
