Bournemouth's £90m Vitality Expansion Has a BIG Problem
Bournemouth's Vitality Stadium expansion has hit a major setback. A key planning meeting has been cancelled, construction on the South Stand has been pushed back, and the number of new seats available for next season has been cut nearly in half — from 1,500 down to around 800.
And the timing couldn't be worse. The Cherries are sitting sixth in the Premier League, with European football a real possibility. Hosting that at the smallest ground in the top flight was already a talking point. Now the stadium isn't growing as fast as the club on the pitch.
We break down what's been delayed, why it happened, and what it means for Bournemouth's ambitious £90 million expansion plan.
