Fix USB, SD Card & External Drive | CHKDSK is Not Available For Raw Drives
In this video, I’ll show you how to fix the RAW file system error on a USB drive, memory card, or external hard drive. If your drive is not opening and Windows keeps asking you to format the disk, and the CHKDSK command shows “The type of the file system is RAW,” this means Windows cannot recognize the partition due to corruption or a damaged partition table.
I’ll walk you through two effective methods to fix this issue. The first method involves cleaning the drive and creating a new partition using Command Prompt, which fixes the problem but formats the drive. This method is useful if you don’t have any important data.
In the second method, I’ll show you how to recover a corrupted or deleted partition without formatting using AOMEI Partition Assistant. This option is best if you have important data on your USB drive and want to restore both the partition and the files.
