This was a live webinar in May of 2022, featuring Margaret and Marco Hanson, owners of Texan Translation in Austin and Houston. The translators describe every step of the process they would follow in preparing the certified translation of this Spanish-language marriage license. These steps include initial contact with a client, pricing, setup of the Word file, adding a screen capture of the source document, the certification and notarization texts, creating text tables, describing watermarks and seals, etc. The most challenging part of this translation is rewriting a prose paragraph near the bottom in more idiomatic, American English style legalese. The source document is authentic, but has been modified in Photoshop to change all personally identifiable details like names and dates.
