Bringing Fern out of pony retirement for a sec. This is Ursa Major.
Ursa Major is about coming out of a shell that you, yourself, have created. In a sea of self doubt and anxieties, it's about those small moments that arise where you feel like you could take on the whole world with your friends by your side. Let the world hear you shout.
It started when Fern sent me some demos she had, she wanted to do something for the Trixie project. One of those demos was this obscure arrangement of sample chopping and analogue beats. I took that and resampled it myself and made Ursa Major's primary instrumental as it is now. She laid down some vocals for me and some fun guitar stuff for the end that I overdubbed afterwards. It's the first song that we've started and finished in entirety in our new homes.
