I bought the badge on AliExpress. I removed the voltage-suppressing diodes from the stock circuit (there were two in the wire), replaced them with a resistor (10 watt, 30 ohms, for the red backlight), and soldered new wires to replace the Chinese ones, which immediately fell off.
The stock badge was removed and replaced with a new one with backlighting. The connection was made to the license plate light (sidelight circuit).
The fuse rating was not changed, the load is not critical, the circuit's power consumption without resistors is 0.55A (it was running under overload, bright, but the LEDs in the badge were extremely hot). Apparently, the Chinese were counting on it being connected to the brake light, for short-term operation... Although it was calculated. Nothing there was calculated. Everything was terribly hot before the conversion.
