Leave me comments about what you want me to cover next! I read all of them so if you want a tutorial on ANYTHING let me know, doesn't have to be Blender, but I'd prefer if it stays VFX related. I'll make it. I have free time and I want to build a good community.
The real tips are always in the description...
Here I talk about a really simple way to design Neon signs, but more importantly I talk about a bunch of creative things you can DO with the neon signs, like creating logos, memes, all kinds of cyberpunk billboards, and stuff that would make Pat Cadigan cry a tear of joy.
Not really that far, but you get the idea.
I highly recommend attaching a small noise modifier to your emission strength in the animation tab, that will give your sign that nice little flicker you see in the final clip.
Also to get the textures in the final clip I just downloaded some brick and build shots from the internet and projected them onto the geometry, cut out the important bits, and extruded them as necessary.
I recommend taking your time with this, as you can make something pretty realistic in a very small amount of time. This entire thing took me about 45 minutes grand total, but I was also messing around with some stuff. Or, if you're making a big scene with tons of neon stuff, just copy and paste everything and take no time with any of it. Odds are nobody will look at the individual signs, but if they do, just write it in Mandarin or Japanese, and then only people who know those languages will understand it's gibberish. Or again, like I said in the video, just make a bunch of outlines using the Bezier Curves function, make the sign look pretty, and don't write anything on it. Copy and paste as needed after that until your scene is full!
I hope you all like the video, share it and subscribe if you want more content! And if you made it all the way down here, share this thing somewhere, that'd be rad. Like I've said before, I'm really trying to build a community on here that can foster each other's growth.
