It was the late 1800s when John Walker was holding wake for his father. He was just 14 years old and orphaned. All he had was a grocery store inherited from his father, which he would take care of, and an old farm. At a young age, many of John Walker's relatives advised him to sell the farm and the grocery store, but John didn't give in to any temptation. John was a smart boy and therefore, he decided to start changing the grocery business to making liquor. He realized that at that time, liquor sales in taverns were very poor. John tried to make a better liquor based on grains and seeds, and that's where the great story of the Whisky that bears his name would begin.
