Nurture vs. Promotion: Young Artists
This panel investigates the pros and cons of promoting emerging artists and best-practice methods. Is early promotion of artists damaging the longevity of their artwork? When is an artist too young to be pushed into the public arena; what makes an artist ‘ready’ for such public celebration? Are young artists becoming better at digital-self-promotion than anyone else? What is the role of the coveted art prize? Is there a right or wrong way to navigate studio visits between emerging artists and art professionals?
