The Mariinsky Theater's most repertoire performance is executed by a brilliant troupe. Ulyana Lopatkina is truly a swan queen, recognized by the entire world. While there are many versions of this immortal ballet, the fusion of the ballerina and the image she created has never been seen before. One of the country's finest ballet critics, Vadim Gaevsky, wrote about her swans after a performance in Moscow in May 2007: “Lopatkina danced the ballet reverently. It seemed both an act of art and an act of faith... The sculpting of light flight poses, and the trace of elusive mental movements - the embodiment of the inconceivable. On stage, the purity of Lopatkina’s lines, and in a sense, the thoughts of her heroine, was clearly revealed.” The Mariinsky Theater's corps de ballet is unusually well-coordinated and is a trademark of the theater. Watching this performance is a great pleasure, and one can return to it again and again! It is a masterpiece! The play was filmed by the BBC in 2007, with choreography by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov (1895), revised by Konstantin Sergeev (1950). Valery Gergiev is at the conductor's stand.
