What caused this tree scrape in the Mississippi swamp?
I was deer hunting when I came across this scrape on a tree. It was at least nine feet high when I first saw it a week earlier. Recently, the scrape has been extended even higher.
There are no moose or elk in Mississippi, so I'm guessing this is a marker or signature tree for a large black bear.
