These days, almost every game has a save system. Otherwise, we'd have to play through the entire game in one go. Undertale is no exception, and it uses saves not only as a return point after death, but also as a narrative component. The determination that every human possesses allows Frisk to save their progress and return time and time again. At first, it might seem like everything returns to the moment they saved, but that's not entirely true. Some monsters remember what happened before they saved. An example of such a monster is Flowey, a flower who used to use saves for his own ends. However, the fandom has become accustomed to the idea of another monster remembering saves. And, oddly enough, it's also Sans. It's a rather amusing tendency to idolize this skeleton simply because of his awesome battle. And the relatively recent "human i remember" memes have cemented this notion in many people's minds. I think it's time to destroy another human headcanon that, for some reason, has been circulating throughout the fandom for a very long time.
