Quickly Trim A Video Without Video Editing Software
Here's how you can trim a video or make a short clip of a longer video for free without any video editing software. The trick is to open a video with the Photos app on your Windows 8 or later PC (instead of the default Movies & TV app. This will give you the option to edit and adjust the start and end times of your video.
On a Mac, you can easily do the same thing within Quicktime, your default video player. Go to the Edit menu and choose Trim.
