Hi guitarists, I'm Alessandro Bianchi, welcome to ShapeYourTone! 🔥
In today's video we talk about modal scales, a nightmare for many guitarists.
In the video I will give practical examples and explain a slightly different approach to modal scales, so it becomes a little easier to understand them!
In addition, with the examples, I'll also let you hear what the songs in question would be like if played without modal scales but following the classic major and minor keys.
Specifically, I'm talking about the Doric, Lydian, Locrian and Phrygian modes. Not mixolydium because I made a whole video dedicated to it here on the channel!
In the video I will be playing songs from Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest and Megadeth and as you can imagine I need something that can cover all styles.
In addition to the guitars, I used the new Boss Katana 50 EX with its pedal board to switch from one sound to another which is already configured, just plug in the cable and it's ready!
