Hello guys , this video is about learning signals and traps in shell scripting . Traps are used to define custom tasks to be executed when a particular signal is sent to shell script process.
I started with explaining the meaning of signals and the usage of trap command in linux . After that , I showed some examples to send signal to a shell script process and examples to define custom task using trap when a signal is sent to a shell script process. Then, I provided multiple examples on the flow of execution when traps are used in shell scripting . I also discussed about multiple traps and overwriting traps in shell scripting. At end , I elaborated what happens when ctrl + C or Ctrl + Z is send to running shell script.
