This depiction of Sans shows him having been possessed by Bill Cypher who, despite the many myths, is not a demon but a mere fragment of the VESSEL known as The Corruptor. A remaining fragment from his attempt to control the multiverse. Despite Bill!Sans's claims to be 'stronger than 404', these are just claims as time and time again, it has been shown by many mortals that Bill!Sans isn't all that powerful. Undertale is a 2015 2D role-playing video game created by American indie developer Toby Fox. The player controls a child who has fallen into the Underground: a large, secluded region under the surface of the Earth, separated by a magical barrier. One prime example of this is Flowey, who, normally shown as being an antagonist in Undertale, actually wants to help the protagonist escape the Underground safely.[4] It presents a universe where the Underground monsters are darker versions of their originals. Some fans refer to these characters with 'Nega' as a prefix to differentiate from canon. Sans (/sænz/) is the brother of Papyrus and a major character in Undertale. He first appears in Snowdin Forest after the protagonist exits the Ruins. He serves as a supporting character in the Neutral and True Pacifist routes, and as the final boss and heroic antagonist in the Genocide Route.
