Flare Token Airdrop Update 1
If you held XRP on 12th December 2020 you qualified for a Flare (FLR) airdrop. The airdrop would have originally worked as follows: 15% of the Flare (FLR) tokens would be given to XRP holders in January 2023 and the balance would be distributed monthly over a 36 month period. AltCoinTrader has agreed to this and is ready to distribute the FLR tokens to its clients as we receive them.
However things could change! The Flare community have put forward FIP.01 – Flare Distribution, Inflation & Incentive Pool Proposal Voting starts 21 Jan 7am UTC, ends 28 Jan 7am UTC https://flare.network/fip01/
Simply put, if the proposal is accepted the remaining tokens (85% that would have been airdropped to the address or exchange that received the first 15%) will no longer be airdropped and will be given to holders that choose to stake and wrap the FLR tokens.
If the community accepts the proposal, the remaining 36 monthly distributions will be carried out on-chain in a decentralized manner. Tokens will be shared among wallets that have wrapped FLR tokens (WFLR).
AltCoinTrader will not be receiving the tokens and therefore will not be able to distribute them. We encourage clients to withdraw their Flare (FLR) tokens and stake them in order to get additional FLR tokens.
If the community rejects the proposal, the same self-custody wallets and the same centralized exchanges that received the first airdrop will receive one airdrop per month for 36 months.
Then AltCoinTrader will continue to distribute the tokens on a monthly basis as we get them, as per the original plan.
