Using Salt Test Strips:
Get a small cup of water from your pool.
Dip a salt test strip into the water.
Wait for about five minutes for the strip to change color.
Compare the color with the chart on the bottle to determine the salt level in parts per million (ppm).

Using a Digital Salinity Meter:
Turn on your digital salinity meter.
Select the salt setting.
Dip the meter into the deeper water of your pool.
