Sealing interpanel joints. Where are YOU looking?

The harsh Russian climate works hard every year to destroy the waterproofing materials that keep your apartment warm and dry. No matter how harsh the material, nature will get its way. Major repairs are divided into four stages: opening and cleaning the joint, foaming, installing a gap sealant with thermal properties, and sealing.
I decided to dedicate this video to the topic of "Sealing Interpanel Joints." I've seen so many lousy jobs that nothing surprises me. I decided to approach this issue from a different angle. Now I'll be filming, discussing, and sharing all the work of these sloppy contractors. Whether you call them housing offices or housing maintenance offices, they're all the same. In their pursuit of low prices for labor and materials, they don't monitor or pay attention to the quality of the work performed. Insulating and sealing an empty, prepared joint is a three-step process. 1) The entire joint is filled with polyurethane foam. 2) To maintain the specified sealant thickness, a release liner made of "Vilaterm" foamed polyethylene is placed in the joint over the foam. 3) The sealant is applied.
I've been asked more than once whether it's possible to skip the Velaterm and simply apply the sealant directly over the foam. It's possible, but it's important to understand that deviating from the recommended procedure will reduce the service life. Foam is very susceptible to destruction when exposed to sunlight (ultraviolet rays).
