Loading Standard Missile 6 Into Vertical Launch System
Sailors and Civilians from the White Sands Missile Range Naval Detachment load a RIM-174 Standard Extended Range Active Missile (SM-6) into the Desert Ship Launch Complex's vertical launch system. The missile was used to successfully intercept a target for a test of the Naval Integrated Fire Control - Counter Air system.
