An excellent vehicle show originally organised by Isobel Hutchinson for Holbeach Town Council but after rain, rain and more rain, the primary school at Holbeach backed out of hosting it at the 11th hour and so Isobel found another location, but the miseries at Fleet Council were upset that their playing field may get damaged by vehicles driving on it plus it would alarm the Burgess Drive residents who may find their Sunday tranquility would be disrupted. Holbeach Council then pulled out leaving the organisers and those due to attend the show with a dilemma.
After Isobel and Sophie spent their time messaging everyone booked to attend and finding that many still wanted to attend a show, it went ahead, at what turned out to be the best location possible.
Thanks to the owners of the Lawns and Lakes Caravan park just off the A17 for allowing Isobel and Sophie Hutchinson to move the show to there at the last minute. Even though they held their own event the day before our car show, the ground was perfect. It's so well draining and not a mark was left behind by us.
There were no issues by us not having Holbeach Town Council on board. Next year will hopefully be an independent show. How can those who are happy to turn out in all weather, rely on the council for the show to go ahead?
South Lincolnshire Mini Owners Club will only attend an independent show in 2024. Both Mother and Daughter, Isobel and Sophie Hutchinson did us proud.

Sadly many others... (We were expecting 15 Minis)
decided not to venture out. It was such as shame for those who listened to the national weather!
We had a dry day apart from a slight shower. The convertibles were parked with their roofs down under after midday. The heavens then reopened after the show ended.
ABOUT South Lincolnshire Mini Owners Club
Founded by Gena Froggatt during lockdown 2020, with many ideas of things to do and places to go once the covid lockdown restrictions were lifted. On one of the first handful of meets, Gena was fortunate to meet Lennie Gilling who came on board and helped with the organisation and especially making telephone calls which Gena hates. She also found it much better to share ideas and confer with someone regarding places to go etc.
In June 2023, Lennie felt he had too much on his plate with his job, family life plus the stuff he was doing for Save the Wave Mini group and gave Gena his resignation which would come into force after Baston Show at Grimsthorpe Castle.
Gena didn't have to search for a new Deputy and had just the right person in mind, James North.
A very bright, smart and verbally articulate young man, James has his fingers in many pies and knows lots of people and places in the Spalding area and is absolutely perfect for the unpaid role, but thankfully he agreed to take it on.
After only a couple of weeks, Lennie felt he had made a mistake and so he has now come back as a moderator with James and Gena in administrative roles.
Both Gena and James can answer any questions you may have.
You can contact Gena on [email protected] and James on [email protected]
Alternatively if you are on social media, contact either of them by Facebook messenger by voice or call.
The South Lincolnshire Mini Owners Club meets at least once a month, usually on the second Sunday of each month. Things can and do change during the summer with many members on holiday and it also being show season. If you look at our LinkTree www.slmoc.co.uk and look at our car calendar, it will give you the closest dates of us doing something.
