First Flight is a 3D animated short about Chirpy, a bright blue bird who’s learning how to fly — but sometimes his attempts don’t go quite as planned! It’s a funny and inspiring story about never giving up, being creative, and celebrating what makes you different. Follow Chirpy as he tries all sorts of clever ideas and brave jumps to get off the ground. First Flight is about being yourself, trying again, and finding your own way to soar.
Director Molly Hill embraces her ADHD as a source of creativity and drew from that experience to shape Chirpy’s endless enthusiasm, unpredictable problem-solving, and refusal to give up. Her goal was to create a character that reflects neurodivergent traits in a positive, joyful light – one that children and adults can all relate to and root for.
Full of heart, humor, and plenty of bumpy landings, First Flight is a joyful story that kids and families will love.
