Turning the moon's soil into usable materials
Research from Waterloo Engineering’s Laboratory of Emerging Energy (LEER) is reimagining the moon as a hub of manufacturing, construction and even habitation. It starts with an experimental thermite reaction using synthesized lunar regolith in a combustion chamber designed to simulate the lunar environment.
