In this episode, I briefly cover the Meningioma section from Kurt’s Notes. Meningiomas are dural-based CNS tumors, the most common brain tumors in adults.

Knowing the various features and criteria that can make meningiomas a higher grade is important. I didn’t mention it in the video, but there are molecular findings that can make a meningioma a WHO Grade III entity, such as TERT promoter mutations or homozygous deletions of CDKN2A or CDKN2B. Consider sending the tumor out for NGS (Next-generation sequencing) if you have enough tissue and various features of the lesion concern you. This topic is discussed here at https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/arti....

Another excellent resource for Meningiomas is this lecture on PathCast by Dr. Rodriguez (   • Meningiomas - Dr. Rodriguez (Hopkins) #NEU...  ).

Check out Kurt's Notes CNS Tumors section for great material on Neuropathology (https://schaberg.faculty.ucdavis.edu/).

I hope to apply for a Neuropathology fellowship slot and have a long way to go in my studies. But we all get better one day and one study session at a time. Have a good week, everybody.
