Out of all the moments in cinema that really hit me in the feels, this is the one that made me cry the most (yes, I’m being serious). All the emotions in Scrat’s face says it all: the sadness, the unknowingness of the future, everything. We have waited all our childhoods for this one moment to finally happen, and after 20 long years, our beloved scrat has finally succeeded in eating his treasured acorn in peace. And as he looks down on the empty nut, he feels a sense of closure yet emptiness inside. Has he fulfilled his purpose in life? Is he just gonna give up after accomplishing his most ambitious goal yet? No. No he does not. He realizes that there is more he can accomplish in life, and more things that can give his life meaning. And so, the little squirrel smiles, as he moves on from the past to greater things, for even though Blue Sky Studios and the acorn is gone, Scrat’s story….has a new beginning.
