Due to the war, sea fishing in Odessa was banned through September. The ban was relaxed in October. The piers are overcrowded. Not all 2021 pilkers performed well in 2022. They say garfish have a genetic memory. There were some good catches in early October. As the weather cooled and the water cleared, the pilker bite became more erratic.
