The Polish Campaign (1939).
During World War II, at the direction of the German government, several German documentaries were produced in foreign languages for broadcast outside the country. These films were exported to explain "their point of view" to the world and also as a response to Allied propaganda. One of the first of these "export" films was "The Polish Campaign" – a unique account of the events of the German-Polish War of 1939. Who was to blame for this war? According to the German version of events, it was the treacherous Polish conspirators, their cowardly tactics, their senseless defense of encircled Warsaw. All these events were reflected in this film.
The Bay of Danzig Belongs to Germany Again! (1940).
A documentary from the propaganda department of the Kriegsmarine (German Navy).
The film tells the story of the first days of World War II – the battles for Westerplatte, Gdingen, Ockhoff, and Hyla. German filmmakers captured the combat actions of German warships that actively participated in the capture of Danzig from the sea. You will see numerous scenes of the battle, the amphibious landing, destroyed Polish fortifications, destroyed aircraft and ships, and 4,000 captured Polish soldiers.
