The Osmo Nano boasts features far beyond its size. At its heart is a next-generation 1/1.3-inch sensor. This large sensor allows you to shoot smooth 4K 60 FPS video, while also offering 4K 120 FPS slow motion and 35 MP photo resolution for capturing moments. Essential for cinematic shots, 10-bit D-Log M support and an impressive 13.5 stops of dynamic range give you additional flexibility in post-production. RockSteady 3.0 image stabilization and Horizontal Balance technology ensure smooth, steady footage even during the most challenging movements.
Unique Design and Ease of Use
The most striking aspect of the Osmo Nano's design is its 52-gram (camera only) weight and magnetic attachment points. Powerful magnets on the back and bottom of the device allow for a truly invisible camera experience with accessories like a Magnetic Hat Clip or Magnetic Neck Strap.
External Display and Power Bank Feature: Multifunctional Vision Dock
The most important feature that distinguishes the Osmo Nano from its competitors is the External Display Accessory (Multifunctional Vision Dock). This module not only offers a vibrant 1.96-inch OLED touchscreen but also doubles as a power bank with its 1300 mAh battery. This extends the camera's 530 mAh battery life from 90 minutes to a total of 200 minutes at 1080p 24 fps. The display module includes smart features such as remotely turning the camera on and off and displaying information horizontally, even in vertical shots.
Connectivity and Storage
The Nano supports the Wi-Fi 6 standard for fast file transfers. Internal storage options are 64GB (48GB available) and 128GB (107.6GB available). Additionally, it supports external memory cards up to 1TB. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The microSD card slot is located above the display module! In our video test, you'll see that we were able to transfer five 800MB files in just 33 seconds.
Battery Performance and Charging Test Results
In our detailed video tests, we observed that battery life dropped to 50 minutes when recording 4K with the camera alone. However, thanks to 30-watt fast charging support, the battery can charge from zero to 80% in 20 minutes! (You can also see the charge percentages by minute in the video.)
Use Scenarios and Competitors
The Osmo Nano is a groundbreaking feature, especially for tight spaces, in-car shooting, repair videos, and PoV (Point of View) videos. Its ability to be used underwater for up to 10 meters also opens the door to sports like diving and surfing.
In the video, I compare the Nano to its competitors, including the Pocket 3, Action 5 Pro, GoPro, and Insta360 Go, in terms of ecosystem, image quality, and price. I also touch on all the additional software features, including Voice Command, Auto Recording, Pre-Recording, and the Sports Control Panel.
