It is no secret that many important scientific discoveries were the result of military developments. But during the Second World War, all concepts of morality and humanity faded into the background when people began to conduct cruel experiments on their own kind. One of the most famous research groups is the Japanese Unit 731.
The unit conducted its experiments in order to develop biological weapons, as well as with the intention of studying the limits of the human body. For the sake of science, the participants were ready to conduct any experiments that, one way or another, seemed necessary to them. What discoveries did the unit make? What specific methods were used? And what of the results of these experiments does humanity use in the 21st century?
