How to model helical and double helical (herringbone) gears.

Helical gears are a derivative of standard gears (or spur gears) where the teeth are pitched. A helical gear with a pitch of 0 is a spur gear.
In this video, we'll look at the construction details of this type of gear and model a 1:2 gear ratio transmission system using rotary joints and motion links. At the end of the video, we'll see how to use the tools shown to create a double helical gear, also known as a herringbone gear.
