I cannot believe it has been 30 years now! How time flies. The opening credits of TNG were slightly modified from the timeless "Where No Man Has Gone Before" phrase from the original series and spoken by Sir Patrick Stewart, OBE who played Captain Picard.
I cannot think of a more iconic phrase that has been used to introduce a TV series. It is timeless, concise, precise and sets the mood for what's to come in the episode.
