You need a sponsor! No matter how many times you’ve PCS’d, every base is different and PCSing procedures are always changing!

When do you need a sponsor?
As soon as you have orders, you need to actively seek a sponsor. If you don’t have orders, follow my free checklist to take care of a bunch of other PCS items.
How do I get a sponsor?
In most cases, your unit will provide you with sponsorship, so contact your unit to obtain a sponsor. When that doesn’t work, contact them again to obtain a sponsor! Keep trying!
Air Force:
You’ll contact your unit command support staff (CSS), if you’re coming to Ramstein you can also email 786 FSS customer service or the Military & Family Readiness Center: DSN 314-480-5100, Commercial (+49) 6371-47-5100 or [email protected]

However, my recommendation for anyone PCSing into the KMC (especially Ramstein), contact the sergeant major and his team with Professional Community Sponsors.
They know sponsorship better than anyone in the country and they’ve helped thousands over the years.

You’ll want to go to the Army Career Tracker (ACT) - https://actnow.army.mil/
Click “Sponsorship”
Click “DA Form 5434”
Select “Create new form”
Start filling out the form
