Vince McMahon, the founder of WWE and executive chairman of TKO Group Holdings, Inc., has resigned from his position following a lawsuit filed by former WWE employee *Janel* Grant. The lawsuit alleges sexual assault, trafficking, and physical abuse. McMahon has denied the allegations and plans to defend himself in court. However, in a statement, he said that he has decided to resign from his executive chairmanship and the TKO board of directors, effective immediately, out of respect for the WWE Universe, the extraordinary TKO business, and its board members, shareholders, partners, constituents, and employees.
The lawsuit filed by Grant alleges that McMahon dangled a job offer at WWE and later promotions in exchange for sex, and that he trafficked her to other men inside and outside the company, including John Laurinaitis, who worked in the company's talent relations department and is also named as a defendant in the suit.
