How to avoid flickering lights? 🎥

How to avoid flickering lights in your footage.
.
When your camera settings and the frequency of the lights in your shot are out of sync, this causes flickering to appear
.
To stop this, you need to match your shutter speed to the frequency of the lights and your frame rate.
.
Depending on where you live the frequency will be either 50HZ or 60HZ.
.
This is equal to a 1/50 shutter or or 1/60.
.
To work out your frame rate, you double the frequency (x2) and then you divide it by an even or prime number.
.
Here's a cheat sheet for both 50hz and 60hz: 50 hz frame rates (UK) 100 fps 50 fps 33 1/3rd 25 fps 1/20 60 hz frame rates (USA) 120 fps 60 fps 30 fps 24 fps
