Alice loves the sea and its endless expanse (but also knows that all freedom can become a prison). In her cabin, Alice discovers a diary that belonged to her predecessor, an old mechanic. While reading his notes—amidst problems with the engine, new conquests, and heartbreak—something strangely resonates with Alice, echoing the joy and sorrow of living many months of the year in a parallel world at sea.
