In this guide, learn how to use a sensor block in Space Engineers. Sensors can be setup to control just about any functional blocks including lights, airlocks and sound blocks.

To use a sensor, simply select the panel on the front of the sensor and toggle the sensor range to your requirements. To preview the sensor range, open up the ships/stations control panel, click info and check 'Show Sensor Range'. You will also have to ensure the sensor has the 'Show in HUD' checkbox selected.

Sensors have two actions, one when an object enters the sensor range, and the other for when the object leaves the area. For example you can setup a sensor to open a door and close when a Space Engineer leaves.

Sensor blocks can be used to play a sound when a player or object is detected.
