Correction:
17:10 The physical distance between the CPU and RAM is not as big of a factor as I make it seem here. Bandwidth bottlenecks and the physics of DRAM have a much more significant impact. Basically, the CPU has a bunch of wires (traces) inside of it, but only a small fraction of those are routed externally to RAM. Imagine a 10 lane highway converging down to 2 lanes - there's bound to be some congestion. Even then, these are not the only contributing factors. Hardware is a messy subject.
