Chiara and Renato started their business a short distance from Lake Maggiore, but we're at 800 meters above sea level, a deliberate choice to live off the land and, in this case, their goat farm. Next to the stables, there's the dairy and cheese production, where Chiara's degree in animal husbandry and Renato's passion for the mountains come together to create a successful business.
The tour of the stables and dairy is fascinating, as are the stories told by this couple, who make hospitality their trademark. Indeed, here's the agri-restaurant, ready to welcome up to 16 people to savor products that to call "zero kilometer" is an understatement. Goat cheeses, of course, along with goat cured meats, homemade pasta, savory pies, and cabbage—all local products to be savored with the people who wanted and created them, and who will make you appreciate them.
Capre e Cavoli is located in Vararo, Cittiglio, a few kilometers from Laveno.
