Grotto made from ordinary putty

We created the grotto using a different technique, priming the base with quern primer. Then, using Volma Sloy gypsum plaster and Volma Arctic finishing putty, we applied the grotto using the traditional method, by scalloping, transferring the material from the tool to the wall. After about 15 minutes, as the mortar on the wall began to harden, we smoothed the tops with a trowel, creating islands. After the putty dried, we lightly sanded down any burrs and uneven areas. We primed with a deep penetration primer and painted with gray paint. Then, using VGT transparent matte varnish, we tinted it gray, creating a glazing compound. We applied the varnish in small sections with a regular roller, then immediately removed the tops with a viscose sponge. Once the varnish had dried, we applied VGT wax for shine. We polished the surfaces with a wool pad using a grinder on minimal surfaces.
