Hey everyone, welcome to the 5th lesson of the complete Photoshop course. Today's topic is Grids (Guides) to perfect your design. So, we'll understand what these Grids (Guides) are, and how we can use them to complement and improve our design, as well as to make things more organized in our process.
My goal with this lesson is to cover the topic of Grids (Guides) very superficially, because there are books that cover this topic, and there's a lot of information about these Grids (Guides) and project organization within Photoshop.
So, my idea isn't to teach a course on Grids (Guides) here. I'll show you the practical fundamentals so you can use it in real life, and after you finish this class, I also recommend you watch this video about Carousels so you can apply the fundamentals you'll see here in a practical exercise.
The first thing we need to understand is that Grids are a visual organization resource for our projects and help with the flow of organization.
They also help harmonize and balance our design and position the elements of our project.
So, Grids are useful for organizing things assertively in the elements we want to place in our project.
Is it a rule to use Grids in projects?
It's not a rule. But it's recommended. After I position the elements in my project, I always try to activate Grids to ensure everything is where it should be.
I have three book recommendations if you'd like to learn more about this, and they are described here in the video descriptions.
