BSOD 124 fix ntoskrnl.exe hal.dll error. Mostly applies to Sandy Bridge processors
The good ol' dreaded Bluescreen 124 error. Here's how I fixed mine. I hope it fixes yours :)
Update 2014: For those who have NVIDIA graphic cards. You may need to try to do a clean install of JUST the NVIDIA graphics card driver. Do not install PhysX software, Geforce gaming experience, etc. as this may cause a BSOD 124. Remember to clean your registry of any traces.
