Build a Tails Linux Wallet Drive – Boot Any Computer & Protect Your Privacy (Cheap & Easy DIY!)
This is a safety and awareness demo done only on hardware I own. I am not showing how to break into other people’s computers. I am showing the risk so you can secure your machines.
In this video I show a wallet sized USB that boots Tails Linux, and a controlled demonstration on my own test PC that highlights how a live operating system can mount an internal drive when the machine allows USB boot. You will see a test folder and files become visible without using the Windows login. That is why it is critical to lock your BIOS or UEFI, keep Secure Boot enabled, and use full disk encryption.

Defensive checklist, do these now if you want to protect your data
Enable a firmware password in BIOS or UEFI
Keep Secure Boot enabled when possible
Disable USB boot if you do not need it
Use full disk encryption such as BitLocker or FileVault
Set a strong user login password and enable TPM protections where available
Physically secure your device when unattended
