In this Sixty Second Tutorial we cover a method of using Scene Edit Detection in Premiere Pro to automatically create shots in a pre-created edit, we look at the following method...
1. Premiere Pro has a new has an in-built scene cut detection feature you can use to automatically detect cut points in an edit that’s already been created.
2. Import your pre-created edit into Premiere and add it to the timeline.
3. Right click on your edit and select ‘Scene Edit Detection’.
4. A new window will appear and in here make sure that the first tick box ‘Apply a cut at each detected cut point’ is selected.
5. The next two tickboxes are optional, creating a bin of subclips from each detected cut point can be useful if you’re going to use these clips in a new edit.
6. Click Analyse and Premiere will run through your edit and automatically make cuts where shots change on the timeline.
7. If you have also selected to create a bin of subclips you can view these in the project window.
