. It is primarily used for acetate, acrylic, and spandex, creating characteristic "dogbone" shaped fibers that improve comfort.

Process Steps: A polymer is dissolved in a volatile solvent, filtered, and extruded through a spinneret. A hot gas stream (usually air or inert gas) evaporates the solvent, solidifying the fibers, which are then wound onto bobbins.
Fiber Characteristics: The rapid surface-inward evaporation often creates a "skin-core" structure, leading to a "dogbone" or dumbbell-shaped cross-section.
