🧩 Goal
Record your MacBook screen with your built-in camera (via QuickTime) while floating your mobile camera (via Iriun) in Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode using a browser-based HTML page.
🔧 Step 1: Set Up Iriun for External Mobile Camera
Install Iriun Webcam App
On your mobile: Download the Iriun Webcam app (Android/iOS).
On your MacBook: Install the Iriun Webcam desktop client.
Connect Devices
Ensure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.
Launch the Iriun app on your mobile and desktop.
Your mobile camera should now appear as a webcam input on your Mac.
Test It
Open any app that uses webcam input (e.g., Zoom, OBS, QuickTime).
Select “Iriun Webcam” as the video source.
🎥 Step 2: Use QuickTime to Record Built-in Camera + Screen
Open QuickTime Player
Go to File --- New Movie Recording.
Select Built-in Camera
Click the dropdown next to the record button.
Choose “FaceTime HD Camera” (or your Mac’s built-in camera).
Select microphone if needed.
Start Screen Recording
Go to File --- New Screen Recording.
Record your screen while your built-in camera is visible in the corner.
💡 This gives you a clean screen recording with your face visible, while we float the mobile camera separately using PiP.
🌐 Step 3: HTML Page to Float External Camera in PiP
Here’s a browser-based HTML page that loads the Iriun webcam and lets you toggle PiP:
Use copilot to generate the html page.
🧪 Open this page in Chrome or Edge, allow camera access, and click “Toggle PiP.” Your mobile camera (via Iriun) will float in PiP while you record your screen with QuickTime.
🧠 Bonus Tips
Use OBS if you want to combine both feeds into one recording.
